Loyal citizens of Ouachita will join Patriots to observe Liberty Day in a fitting manner with a community event honoring the nation’s values and history. Local organizers invite residents and visitors to participate in ceremonies, speeches, and a moment of reflection.
Thousands of loyal residents including schools fraternal orders clubs and unattached individuals will form a parade on Court Square at 2 P M Friday April 26 with units from United Confederate Veterans Knights Templar Woodmen of the World West Monroe school children and teachers and the Monroe Choral Society. The Red Cross groups are urged to participate and all unaffiliated locals are invited to join. A postponed Friday baseball game against Shreveport is noted.
All members of Monroe Lodge No. 454 are summoned to appear at the Club Room at 1:30 PM on Friday April 26 to participate in the liberty Loan Parade. J M Cobb Exalted Ruler and F B Surgine Secretary. 23-31.

The ship lies on its port side with seacocks open, authorities take charge, and 500 to 600 laborers were aboard. Six men are confirmed drowned with more missing as rescuers free trapped workers.
