Methodist Board Allocates Fund For White Colored Theological Schools
The M E Church South education board in Nashville allotted $21 000 to white schools $12 000 to colored schools and $12 000 to theological schools. Of the colored share $10 000 went to Payne College Georgia and 2 000 to Lane College Jackson Tenn. White school grants ranged from 500 to 1 000 across the South with 4 000 for ministerial training. Vanderbilt University was excluded from the grants.
