Colonel George E. Breeee of Breece Lumber Co. leaves Monroe by car for Albuquerque after a visit to oversee barge and river transport equipment purchases. He praised Monroe’s business climate and plans to build a home near Lovers' Lane as he enjoys the area’s prospects.
Ruston Drilling Company absorbed Thrift Oil and Gas Company in a six figure transaction here on Tuesday. The consolidation gives Ruston Drilling control of more than 50 million feet of gas daily through the Ruston Gas Company. The deal involves practically all local Ruston businessmen. An April 24 reunion of Camp No. 7 Confederate Veterans is planned for 10 a.m. at the Baptist church basement. A proposed mayoral measure would abolish the justice of the peace office in Ward One and create a municipal court for Ruston.
