Chicago, April 19. Fifteen persons are under physicians care and Ella Redich, a house maid, is held by police. Food at a dinner party last night at Dr. V. C. Freedman’s home is being analyzed for ground glass. Two are seriously ill. The girl was employed at the Freedman home and was discharged after breaking three glasses. She denied knowledge of the food. During the meal a son of Dr. Freedman bit into a piece of glass in a dumpling as others complained of nausea.
A Bayou near Alexandria was the scene this morning of the discovery of a baby’s body. Deputies stated the infant appeared white, though the head and one arm had been severed by workmen who cut into the body. The sack contained a brick and lay beneath water hyacinths.
Baton Rouge La April 19 The state pension board completed a two day session reopening the pension rolls closed since 1922 and adding ninety one names. The board warned against paid agents claiming to secure pensions and said no signatures to such contracts influenced roll additions. A June hearing was planned for remaining applications and old soldiers and widows were reassured no one owes payments to agents for rolls.
Federal agents arrested Al Pilsbury a former fight promoter after raiding a residence at 1718 Polymnia Street and finding fake liquor paraphernalia and spurious government stamps in profusion, the second precinct police jail reported.
Dresden Tennessee April 18 Barnyard gossip runs high after J L Holbrook finds a hen has laid an egg with a Teapot relief. He says the flock shows lynch talk among elder fowls as the pullet of flapper age laid the egg and he plans to send it to the Republican national committee.
In New Orleans Mrs. Levee plans a civil suit for 13404 against three Levee brothers to enforce a California judgment. The case follows the 1921 killing of her husband Frederick R. Levee by her, in Los Angeles, and recounts prior insanity proceedings and release.
The weather bureau forecasts fair and warmer Easter in Mississippi and Alabama with Louisiana expected to see clouds. In New York City Easter parade vendors have rain insurance with a nine percent hat cost and a possible refund if a tenth of an inch of rain falls between 1 am and 1 pm.

Texarkana Ark April 19 The government closes its case in the Pat Marr oil case after calling landowners from the Smackover fields. A government witness D E Armstrong who is an El Dorado church elder testified Marr's reputation for truth and morality in three and a half years there as good.
W W Atterbury told the senate Agriculture Committee that if the Hooker White Atterbury plan is chosen, he would produce an aluminum magnesium alloy for railroad cars. He said the material, once used by German Zeppelins, would allow 50 percent heavier freight loads and 30 percent heavier passenger loads. J G White said their plan involves three individuals with no outside interests and pledged a strong operating organization while retaining permanent control. If a controlling stake were ever disposed of the new company would still must meet federal provisions including sinking funds and profit distribution.
Shreveport police report no arrests in the abduction and mutilation of David Howard a 26 year old black man from in front of a hotel. He was driven beyond the fair grounds then brought back and left at Charity Hospital with serious injuries. Howard says masked men claimed he insulted a white woman, which he denies.
Dr Oscar Dowling will depart tonight with Lewis Murray 19 for the United States Leprosarium at Carville after a blood test at Charity Hospital indicated leprosy. Murray had worked three years as a waiter in an Oil City case, according to Superintendent W R Morrill.
