A shipment of 1 162 pounds of tin foil gathered by the Monroe fire department businesses and individuals was sent to Shreveport for the Shriners hospital to aid crippled children. The foil will be processed there to extract metals and the proceeds benefit the hospital.
Mr. Clarence Bowen of 359 Whittington Ave Hot Springs Arkansas reports years of kidney and bladder disorder rheumatism and inability to work ended after taking Gly-Cas He describes the medicine as truly dependable and credits it with his health improvement.

John B. Schlottman a 49 year foreman in the Y and M V railroad shops in Vicksburg died at his home after a long illness. Surviving are his wife four daughters and two sons.
The Ouachita Parish tax collector prepares about 2250 delinquent tax notices to be mailed Friday as compared with 2800 notices last year. Taxpayers still owing 1936 taxes will have property advertised for sale within 20 days after mailing. Over 85 percent of 1936 taxes are paid, with delinquents owing small amounts.
The Monroe Little Theater hosts an open meeting at the Northeast Center of LSU on April 26 at 8 p.m. Two one-act plays Obstanate Family directed by Ruth Morris and Submerged directed by Eula Davenport will be performed with coffee between acts.
