Technical Sergeant James E Beal of the U S Air Force stationed at Nakhon Phanom Royal Thai AFB Thailand is an aircraft mechanic with the Pacific Air Forces. He previously served at Da Nang Vietnam and is the son of Mrs Myrtile Swafford of Alturas California and E A Beal of Bastrop. Private Larry D Hogan completed a light vehicle driver course at Ft Huachuca Arizona, training on military vehicles up to two and a half tons. Sergeant Stephens, after 21 years service, retired as a food service supervisor from Barksdale AFB and attended Delhi High School. Airman First Class Charles W Sledge has arrived for duty at MacDill AFB Florida, assigned to the Tactical Air Command after prior service at Andrews AFB Maryland. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Charlie Sledge of Monroe and a graduate of Little Flower High School and Southern University and A&M College Baton Rouge.

Airman Bing King of Rayville and Airman Larry D. Jackson of Oak Grove are in training for Air Force duties at Lackland and Chanute AFBs. Army Private First Class David B. Hill of West Monroe completed eight weeks of advanced training at Fort Hood, with basics in combat skills. Private First Class Henry V. Hanson, also 19, finished a five week vehicle driver course at Fort Hood. Ronnie M. Frazier of Choudrant earned promotion to specialist four with the 5th Aviation Battalion at Fort Carson. Victor L. Tolbird of West Monroe was assigned to the 20th Engineer Battalion near Pleiku in Vietnam.

Specialist Four Evans Promoted Overseas in Vietnam
Specialist Four Marvin O R Evans, 19, son of Mr and Mrs William Franu of 702 Mississippi St, Mon tex has been promoted to Specialist Four near Long Binh Vietnam. He serves as a truck driver with the 701st Transportation Company, 6th Battalion. Evans joined the Army in January 1966 and trained at Ft Campbell Kentucky before deploying to Vietnam in October. Sergeant Walter F. Stephens of Delta retired from the US Air Force.
