The remains of Pvt. Harry M. Williams III U S marine corps who was in action on Iwo Jima Feb 24 1945 arrived in Monroe at 7 15 p m Monday. The body went to Hixon Brothers Funeral Home for viewing until 2 p m Tuesday. Memorial services are set for 3 p m Tuesday at Memorial Presbyterian Church West Monroe with Revs. Charles B. Robinson and Ernest Holloway officiating. Interment will be in Hasley Cemetery in the Williams family plot. Active pallbearers include uncles and cousins S John Williams Victor P Johnson Robert Fd Johnson Morris Bell Jr George Orrell Williams and Ed Williams. honorary pallbearers are Marine Corps League members and Soma Phi Omega fraternity members. Williams was born in West Monroe October 21 1925 and graduated Ouachita Parish High School in February 1944 before joining the Marine Corps. He trained with the Fifth Marine Division and was killed five days after landing on Iwo Jima, eleven months after enlisting.
