Kansas City April 11 The Kansas State Bankers Association opens its annual convention. Leaders plan to discuss joining state banks to the Federal Reserve system and the par collection of checks. The convention continues tomorrow.
The newly formed reserve company will meet again tonight to finish organization and start drilling. Travis Oliver, vice president of Centre Savings Bank, is elected captain to lead the unit with assistants to be chosen. About two hundred have signed the roll and plan to attend.
Diplomatic observers in Rio de Janeiro expect South American nations to follow Brazil in establishing relations with Germany. Spain to handle German interests in Brazil. In Montevideo Uruguay declares neutrality in the U S Germany and Cuba Germany wars.
Paris April 11 reports the Lafayette Flying Squadron will switch from French to United States military uniforms and will carry the US flag on the French front. The unit comprises Americans who have distinguished themselves at the front.

Akron Ohio April 11 The continuous pocket billiards title is up for grabs tonight in Akron as Frank Taberski Schenectady faces Benjamin Allen Kansas City. The match to 450 points in three 150 point sessions carries a 150 side stakes and a $700 purse with 65 percent to the winner and 35 percent to the loser.
