In Apalachicola the search continues for Flight Officer K McClean of Tyndall field who sacrificed his life to save a student passenger after a collision during a gunnery drill near gun net camp 915. Private Ernest S Harding parachuted to safety while McClellan could not escape.
Washington April 9 14 percent labor champions pressed in the House against the Hobbs bill seeking to redefine robbery and extortion with penalties of years imprisonment and a $10000 fine. The first labor legislation fight of the 78th Congress opened with debate on amendments including one by Representative Cellar NY Democrat aimed at aligning the bill with existing labor statutes while he argued for an affirmative approach.
