Athletic Rally Held In Part In Spite Of Rains
Rain interrupted the eighth annual elementary rally at West Monroe High School with some events postponed to next Saturday. Drew school girls won the volleyball contest and Cheniere 2room school took the mixed volley, while boys volleyball awaits next week’s continuation. Negro Circus Employee Injured After Fall From Train
Hugh McNeil, a 23 year old colored circus employee with the Christy Brothers, was found badly crushed near the Missouri Pacific tracks at Collinston. He fell from a train moving from Monroe to Bastrop and suffered a crushed left arm and severe injuries. He received first aid and was to be sent to St Francis Sanitarium in Monroe. his condition is believed critical.
