Break at St Cratg released floodwaters into the St Francis River swelling the southern half of Crittenden County and parts of St Francis Poinsett and Cross. Overflow will push toward the Mississippi at Helena Marion Hulbert and other towns with rail facilities. Rail workers move to high ground as trains likely suspend westbound service into Memphis.
Gen. Bixby and Rep. Ransdell believe levees will withstand floods in Louisiana and Mississippi with emergency work exempt from the eight hour law.
