Boy Struck By Car At Sixth and Wood Killed
A nine year old Monroe child was killed instantly while waiting for a school bus at the corner of Sixth and Wood Streets. William James Hildabride, son of Mr and Mrs H L Hildabridle of the Majestic Hotel, died. France M Johnson 53, a Negro woman of 2705 Price Street, Monroe, was charged with negligent homicide. She was booked at the Monroe Police Station and transferred to parish jail after her vehicle jumped the curb and struck the child following a collision at Sixth and Wood with a second vehicle driven by William Roundtree 41 of 3912 Elms Street. The car stopped 167 feet from impact. The child was taken to St Francis Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
