Plaquemine High School Green Devils won the Louisiana state boxing championship for the fifth straight year, finishing with 20 points led by coach Sam Distefano. Oak Grove placed second with 16, Opelousas third with 12, New Iberia fourth with 10, and numerous other towns and players earned points in the finals. Ordley Viator of New Iberia won 165 pounds by TKO in the first round.
