Monroe Chamber to Host Public Meeting On Resources and Pipelines
A Monroe meeting of the board of directors and the junior board of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and citizens will gather at the chamber headquarters at 7:30 tonight to discuss the carbon situation and state pipelines projects. Citizens will be invited to express views as debates rise around conservation of natural gas ahead of the constitutional convention. In other news Mrs. M L Bennett aged 82 died this afternoon at the Waverly plantation home of her son James Bennett after a brief illness. She lived in Monroe many years and was active in the community, survived by three sisters and three brothers, with funeral set for Faulk's Chapel near Logtown. She was a native of Alabama and a longtime Episcopalian neighbor loved by many.
