Berlin reports say Hitler's party felt a major victory as anti Jewish agitation subsides. A national boycott continues loosely while authorities tighten passport controls. Jewish emigration to neighbors increases with escorts and arrests noted in East Prussia and Saxony.
Toledo police hunted an apparently crazed knife wielder who attacked four women and a girl, about 30, after leaping at Mrs. Charles Jacobs in a downtown alley Sunday night. Victims reported narcotic odor and peculiar scent on the suspect. She was hospitalized with injuries and surgery remained possible.
A local theater group presents the Little Theater play Adam and Eva with Miss Mary Louise O'Donnell and an advertising man in the cast. The show opens Monday at the Ouachita Parish junior college auditorium.
Government receipts through March show nine months of the 1933 fiscal year with a deficit and total debt rising. Income tax collections for the period are down versus last year, while banks boost circulation backed by government bonds under the Glass-Borah amendment.

Detroit April 3 Michigan becomes the first state to elect its constitutional convention delegates to decide on repealing national prohibition. About 900,000 voters will choose 100 delegates, one from each district, with candidates pledging for or against ratification. Michigan already repealed the bone dry clause in November by a large margin, led by Detroit, though Monday’s vote set the stage for April 10 assembly.
In Martinez California eight Filipinos were jailed after allegedly burying 26 year old Celine Navarro alive in a cult rite for unfaithful wives. Exhumation of Navarro’s body from a hidden Jersey Island grave followed the torched ceremony. Police say more arrests will follow for participation in her death.
The Court of Appeal for the Second Circuit opens a four day session in Civil District Court with a heavy docket. New judges R. M. Taliaferro and E. P. Mills join H. C. Drew as presiding judge. Albert E. Ewing of Shreveport is clerk. Monday’s cases include Winnsboro State B. and T. Co. vs J. A. Hemler.
Ouachita parish district court grand jury was empaneled Monday before Judge David I. Garrett and dismissed subject to call. The jurors likely will not be called again until April 24 as Frank W. Hawthorne, the Democratic district attorney nominee, has not yet been elected.
Former New York mayor Walker and actress Betty Compton visited Cannes city hall to obtain details on local marriage regulations. He denied rumors of their marriage and said he would announce it if it happens.
In Morgan circuit court, Mrs Victoria Price testified that Heywood Patterson of Chattanooga was one of her attackers in the Scottsboro retrial. Prosecutor Bailey completed direct questioning. defense chief Samuel S. Leibowitz cross examined Patterson as Price described the assault aboard an oil tank and a gondola car near Stevenson Alabama.

Three men armed with a machine gun and automatic pistols robbed Adkins Packing Company in south Dallas of 1500 dollars. They forced four workers to sit, demanded the manager Henry Beck open the safe, and fled in a car with the cash.

An intensive manhunt was under way near Dover for train wreckers blamed for derailing a Pennsylvania flyer carrying the Boston Red Sox. The crash killed engineer C. A. Burkhard of Wilmington and fireman E. L. Poulson of Delmar after a tampered switch caused the locomotive to overturn three miles south of Dover.

Charles Frank Borah 65 prominent Orleans attorney died at his New Orleans home after a weeklong illness. Father of Federal District Judge Wayne G. Borah and brother of U S Senator William E. Borah survived by his widow Fannie Thomas. Private Episcopal funeral services scheduled in New Orleans.
President Roosevelt asked Congress to pass laws refinancing farmer debt and adjusting mortgage terms to ease forced liquidations. He proposed temporary amortization relief and seeks soon to extend similar aid to small home owners while pushing reciprocal tariff agreements.
