Blytheville Arkansas April 3 T H Musgrove a wealthy planter was shot to death near Blytheville last Thursday John Walker 16-year-old son of a man accused of killing Musgroves father surrendered to the sheriff to answer for the slaying Walker says self defense after an argument over timberland ownership Musgrove had been tried for murder in the earlier case and acquitted. Two suits by St Louis women for damages were compromised and another by a Pennsylvania woman is pending Mrs Musgrove filed for divorce this year.

April 3 Torreon reports the fall of the city after federals flee toward Mexico City. Villa tallies 509 killed and 1500 wounded for his forces while claiming 14 000 Federals annihilated with about 1000 killed and 2500 wounded. Heat thirst and poor treatment caused many deaths.
Gen Venustiano Carranza announced the rebel victory at 10 20 last night. Villa reportedly captured many prisoners as federal forces retreated from Torreon after heavy fighting and trench and barbed wire entanglements fell to the rebels. Crowds flooded streets, Carranza’s residence lit with nationalist colors, shouting Viva Carranza Viva Villa Viva Madero Viva Mexico.
