Dallas report says masked men abducted Alex Johnson a hotel bell boy tied him to a fence post and flogged him twenty five lashes then branded K K K on his forehead with acid. Johnson later returned to the hotel and was thrown from a car. Police say the assailants charged him with relations with white women.

Grayling Lumber Plant to Resume Operations April 18
O. G. Elliott, manager of the Grayling Lumber Company's Monroe plant, announced a restart on April 18 after a shutdown since December 2. Death of D F Vollmer City Resident
D F Vollmer aged 74 died suddenly this morning at 10 o clock while resting at a store. He was a city employee and machinist at the new power plant. He was a Mason and the Western Star Lodge will conduct the funeral tomorrow at 3:00 p m from the family residence on Lovers Lane. Interment will be in Old City Cemetery. Surviving him are his widow and several children living out of state.
