The program, announced by State Superintendent John E. Coxe, aims to ease welders shortage with 78 students enrolled in pre employment refresher and NYA classes. A separate grant of 14,654 funds equipment for the national defense training center at Southwestern Louisiana Institute in Lafayette, expected to open soon.
