Jets Sink Four North Vietnamese Torpedo Boats Near Tonkin Gulf
U S Navy jets from a 7th Fleet carrier attacked a flotilla of six torpedo boats in the Gulf of Tonkin off Thanh Hoa River. Bombs destroyed four craft as antiaircraft fire came from both boats and the shore. Pilots Cook and Watson reported intense fire and that two boats blew apart while a fourth sank.

Two Monroe residents died in separate accidents on Saturday. Ralph Joseph McHenry, 22, of Monroe was killed in New Orleans. funeral rites and burial planned as his family mourns. Dazzling Display Lights Morning Skies of South
