NEW ORLEANS October 6 Republican national committeeman John Minor Wisdom said an effort to deny Eisenhower fair play at the polls is underway in Louisiana. He reported the Orleans election board plans to omit Republican representation at poll booths on November 6, with two commissioners and no clerks for the GOP. Democrats would have two commissioners and one clerk, plus two watchers. Wisdom said the move unduly limits GOP participation, noting Louisiana law requires proportional party representation where practicable.
Baton Rouge details show the registrar of state lands announced that over $20.7 million was turned to the state treasurer in the first quarter of the 1956-57 fiscal year. Total receipts reached $23,375,538.30 with $12,164,744 from new leases since July 1, 1955, plus rentals and royalties on active leases and pipeline rights of way.

Four Polish men were sentenced in Poznan to jail terms from two to four years for their roles in the June 2 uprising. The defendants were all ex convicts. Three received four year terms: Feliks Grajewski 28 Pogran Krugielka 27 and Kazimierez Fizich 33. The fourth Mirctyslaw Grfzeskiewicz 19 drew two years plus a four year suspended sentence.

He fled after she told him she would have a baby, saying he would lock the front door and urging her to rock the back. She reported having only 32 in the house.
