Tyler Texas October 5 UP Attorney General John Ben Shepperd produced documentary evidence in court Friday that the NAACP s 112 chapters in Texas were ordered in 1954 not to desegregate without clearance from New York headquarters. He seeks a temporary injunction to shut the NAACP in Texas while NAACP lawyers defend the independence of local chapters. Evidence includes a May 25 1954 memorandum from New York headquarters.

Possum Hunt Slaying Confession in Zachary Area
