In Tokyo a U S Army colonel Aubrey D. Smith died after a knife wound allegedly inflicted by his wife Dorothy at their Washington Heights home. Police 10 Sell Stray Animals In Five Parishes
About 60 horses mules and jacks were picked up by a state police team on northeast Louisiana highways in two weeks to clear roads of traffic hazards. Most animals remain in a West Monroe lot and will be sold at a public auction Wednesday at 2 pm. A $10 recovery fee plus $1 per day held is charged, with about ten animals reclaimed so far. Stock came from Ouachita Union Morehouse Concordia and Catahoula Parishes. The auction lot is near Bancroft Paper Company on a gravel road west of the warehouse.

Fantastic night battle leaves two dead near Changsong
In a fog bound action on Sept 21–22 on the Eastern Front two American tank crewmen were killed as North Korean forces attacked three tanks. Lt. David Koch led the engagement with tanks on a ridgeline and near an 800 foot drop. Surviving crew members and South Korean support fought off the Red assault under heavy mortar and artillery fire.

Funeral Held For Shot O Grove Girl
Alice Seymour fourteen, fatally shot by her eleven year old brother, was buried in Sunflower Cemetery near Bastrop after services at Ca tron-Gay Funeral Home in Oak Grove.
