Clarksville Faces Worst Flood Since 1919 After 10-Inch Rain
A flash flood inundated Clarksville Texas flooding a two mile strip along Boggy Creek. Ten inches of rain in three hours washed homes from the center of town, leaving about 75 homeless and widespread property damage. Four to five cars and several businesses were carried away or damaged. The courthouse remained dry as residents sought shelter in the county court house. Authorities called it the worst flood here since 1919.
