London November 28. In a Commons statement Lord Baldwin urged Germany to abandon isolation and secrecy about arms. Foreign Minister Simon said Britain sent communications to the United States Germany France and Italy creating a new situation and showing initiative. Churchill pressed for greater air forces to ensure security, Baldwin cited plans to strengthen air power.
Osika Mississippi sheriff reports $500 stolen from Jim Miller of Mt Herman Louisiana. Miller was killed last week and Brock of Tangipahoa parish Louisiana is jailed in Magholia. Brock tried hanging himself, later cut down by guards. Miller’s death followed an argument over kept money for whisky.
Secretary Wallace urged cotton planters to hold 1935 acreage to 75 percent of the 1928-32 average, a 25 percent cut under last year’s contract. He noted a larger cut wasn’t possible due to world supply and hinted the Bankhead act could aid 1935 supply, with an expected crop around 12 million bales after reductions.
In Carlisle Pennsylvania a South Langhorne camp owner identified the dead man and woman as a couple who stayed with three children at her site from November 19 to 21. Officials said the man killed the woman then himself with a rifle and that the cause of the children's deaths likely suffocation. A California license plate car tied to the family was found. authorities traced a blue car to Seattle and Michigan factory origin. Investigators consider connections to an itinerant vaudeville performer in Ocean Park California with possible links to the children and the woman.
James Slim Hall, a second term robber who fled Louisiana State Penitentiary with three others last week, was captured near the Angola prison reservation after being fed by a resident and then reported to guards. He had led a breakout from the penitentiary with ten prisoners, forcing a guard and taking a foreman hostage before the group dispersed. Hall's companions Moon and Middleton were soon captured as well.
Chicago trading saw corn futures hit a record high for four years as traders fear crop shortages. Cash corn climbed to 1.06 a bushel, the top in five years, with a rise of four cents overnight. The 1934 crop value exceeds last year’s by about 20 million dollars while production remains far below normal.

George Nelson known as Baby Face Nelson, 25, dies in a ditch near Niles Center after a gunfight with federal agents Samuel Cowley and Herman Hollis who also die. Nelson bears 17 bullet wounds including a fatal abdominal hit. investigators note his naked, bloodstained body and missing companions.
New Orleans reports two neighbor youths, Jack Murphy and James Boesch aged 12 and 14, left home with a shotgun and supplies to camp out. They entered a nearby grocery, borrowed a nickel, called James by phone, and were finally retrieved by tearful parents after a long wait as a lesson.
At a junction of the L and A railroad with the Haughton Bellevue highway in Bossier parish three people were injured in a collision involving a pulpwood truck driven by Joe Bruner. Bruner and two black helpers escaped serious harm after swerving to avoid the westbound Shreveporter train linked to Sunday's fatal crash.
