About 845 people attended the Illinois Central Service Twin City Booster club meeting at the Illinois Central depot grounds. R G St John urged caution at grade crossings and stressed charity and loyalty. Proceeds from a cake walk benefit undernourished children. Live music and an old time square dance followed in nearby halls with attendees from Choudrant Ruston El Dorado Rayville Shreveport Monroe and West Monroe.

Real Estate Salesman Ends His Own Life in New Orleans
Newton M. Harris Jr., 29, a New Orleans real estate salesman, was found dead with a bullet wound in the right temple in a car near Canal Boulevard at the lakefront. Assistant coroner Dr. Robert H. Potts ruled it a self-inflicted death. A pistol lay beneath the body and two notes reading Dead men tell no tales were found in the vehicle.
