Dossie L Miller Drowning Victim In Union Parish

Marion special report says Dossie L Miller aged about 55 drowned yesterday morning in a farm pond near Marion. Coroner's office ruled suicide after the body was recovered from 12 feet of water. Miller had left home claiming a trip to Farmerville and was found near his cousin Dick Miller's farm. A wheel tied with rope was found around his neck and the body was taken to Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Jonesville Man Killed In Wreck

Ernest E. Coley a 27 year old man from Jonesville was killed in a two car collision near Caspiana in northwest Louisiana. State police said he lost control on a rain wet highway and skidded broadside into an oncoming car last night.

Mystery Blast Kills Three In Alabama Town

An unexplained explosion killed three sisters and injured a fourth in Huntsville, Alabama. The eight room home of John H Bachman was demolished and the dead were Maude Williams, 73, William Struve, 69, both of Huntsville, and Pearl McFarlin, 74, Detroit. Nora Freeman, 71, Huntsville, was hospitalized in serious condition. Residents speculated the blast resembled rocket motor tests at Redstone Arsenal, though the nearby static testing tower is miles away. Mrs Freeman recalled a flicking memory as reporters gathered details.

Experts To Probe Crash Of Airliner

In Alameda California on November 16 the Navy announced seven crash experts would fly to the carrier Philippine Sea then return to Long Beach with 19 bodies and wreckage from a Pan American Stratocruiser. Arkansas prison escapee captured after three hour manhunt

A 23 year old prisoner from Arkansas State Penitentiary described as extremely dangerous was captured in South Monroe after a three hour manhunt. He escaped from Warner prison on November 12 after assaulting a guard and stealing a car. He was found hidden in a garden corner by a 12 year old girl as police closed in.

Fire kills 17 in Moon Glow Hotel blaze in Niagara Falls

A pre dawn fire at the Moonglow Hotel in Niagara Falls claims 17 lives, including 14 children from two Negro families. Acid Tossed By Teens In Downtown Park Attack
