Former Winnfield blacksmith Barney C. Bass of Camden Ark was killed in a head on collision with a two ton gravel truck on U S Highway 167 four miles north of Dodson at 1245 PM. Bass body was thrown 46 feet. The other truck driver James P Greer of Jonesboro and an occupant James Rasberry also of Jonesboro suffered minor injuries. Bass died instantly from a fractured skull and internal injuries.
