A Finnair DC3 with 24 Finns aboard crashed in a swamp near Mariehamn Finland killing 21 people including the pilot and co pilot. Three survived with injuries. New Fire Truck Plunges From Cliff in Carlsbad

US trims B47 bomber force in Europe
The Defense Department announced a nearly 20 percent cutback in the B47 nuclear bomber force stationed in Europe.
