F. J. Fran Brennan, Monroe businessman and miniature race car enthusiast, is named regional director of the southwest for the American Miniature Race Car Association. He also serves as secretary of the Louisiana Race Car Club at Monroe which reports 65 entries for the New Year’s Day speedway classic. Local club racers tune up cars at the Lakeside Country Club speedway north of Monroe with no admission fee for spectators. The non profit clubs promote sport for entertainment and there are twelve local members, with six Pacemaker cars newly acquired for today's tune ups.
