May 4. Harvey Dillon former superintendent of the Louisiana Training Institute received a pardon recommendation from the state pardon board the only such recommendation on the slate. Dillon was sentenced 2 to 6 years in the penitentiary after his December 8 1939 conviction in Monroe district court for embezzlement.
