A 14 year old girl died and 45 others were injured when a Baltimore Memorial Stadium escalator barricaded at the top jammed with teenagers during a Baltimore Cleveland game outing. Usher Melville Gibson tried to warn guards as thousands surged toward the left field stands. The platform atop the escalator was blocked and the crowd rushed the second deck.
