Thomas Harris aged 15 and William Farley aged 17 of Monroe La died when pipe in a freight gondola shifted during switching at the state penal farm near Angola. Sheriff Fred Wilcox said the pipe rolled onto them as cars moved to a ferry across the Mississippi river. Bodies will be returned for burial. Harris and Farley were sons of local residents.

He says no one in the state has authority to lead the robes. Pageant director Reverend A M Wallock says thousands of regalia already have been issued.
