Six year old Lawrence Edward Morrison of Fullerton near Pitkin was fatally struck at 3 pm as he darted into the highway. Sheriff W A Reed said the car was driven by Mr Scarborough oil man of Lake Charles. The child died at Leesville hospital about six pm. Coroner Brown Ward called the accident unquestionably unavoidable.

James Zeigler 13 of Eros La has now breathed alone for 16 minutes outside the iron lung at Charity hospital after 43 days. Doctors who had given up hope say he may recover from the paralytic illness that struck him last Thanksgiving.
