Ruston Crash Kills Monroyan and Injures Three
Ruston, special report: Bernard Lovett Jr., 38, of 107 South Fourth Street, Monroe, died on arrival at Lincoln General Hospital after a late Friday collision on Highway 80 East. His wife and two of five children were seriously injured, including a girl with a skull fracture, as a jackknifed truck struck a stopped auto in misting rain. Lovett’s body was taken to Spears Funeral Home. No charges were reported. The truck driver, Claude Nighton, was employed by Tom Hicks in West Monroe. his home and company were not disclosed.
