Baboons Stage Escape From Texas Research Center
Twenty five baboons escaped from a breeding cage at Southwest Foundation for Research and Education in San Antonio Texas. Sixteen were recaptured on the 160 acre grounds. one female returned on her own. Spokesman Dick Smith blamed a faulty cage latch and said the animals are not dangerous though imports from Africa have them described as nervous. The foundation houses about 200 baboons used for medical research.
