Community club marks fundraiser for underprivileged youth
The club sells luminous night reading markers for 2 dollars each to fund aid for underprivileged children in the two elites. Each year the club selects a boy and a girl in the Pelican State government area. The Sunshine Special outing to Chemin-A Haut Park previously drew a large group of youths. Three Men Held For Bastrop Liquor Store Burglary
Three Mississippi men are detained in the parish jail in Bas trop on burglary investigation for a liquor store theft last month. Names withheld pending inquiry. Deputies seized about 15 empty whiskey cases and burglary tools in their Mississippi-licensed car. Missing were seven or eight whiskey cases.
