Gas Sniffing Blamed Here As Boy Dies
Monroe 13 year old Henry Borsch Jr was found dead in an old car on a vacant lot near his home. He apparently died from sniffing gasoline fumes from a can found beside him. Police noted imprints on his nose and mouth and saliva on the can. The boy, an eighth grade student at Jefferson Junior High and Boy Scout, was from Monroe. Funeral services were planned for 4 p.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home with Troop 127 Scouts as pallbearers. Authorities awaited an autopsy and coroner statement.

Five Die In Bus Truck Crash Near Port Royal
A Greyhound bus carrying servicemen on leave and a pickup camper collided on US 17 near Port Royal Virginia. Five people died, 11 injured, including drivers of both vehicles and a camper passenger. the bus veered into a churchyard about 10 miles south of the town. One of the 13 military passengers on the bus was en route to Baltimore from Norfolk. Two camper passengers also perished.
