Lt. Royal J. Bryan and bride-to-be Miss Opal Elmore died or were critically injured when their car collided head on with a northbound truck on a rain slick Laurel Hill curve in West Feliciana Parish. Donald Bryan, best man and brother of the groom, was seriously injured. Miss Elmore remained hospitalized with a cerebral concussion and pelvic fracture. The couple, engaged after meeting at Selman Field, planned to marry in New Orleans after wartime service.
