Man Drops Dead On Street In Monroe
Joe C. Smith, 170, of Chatham, collapsed while approaching his parked car near Calypso and St. John streets Friday afternoon. Coroner Dr. J. T. French ruled heart failure as the cause. He had come to Monroe for treatment and died shortly after leaving a local physician’s office. Funeral services were held at Mc Clure Funeral Home in Rutson after removal from Mulhearn.
