J J Fuller 75, pioneer of Dubach and longtime local businessman, died at the Ruston Lincoln Sanitarium at 7 30 am Saturday. Survived by wife Mattie Tait Fuller, four sons L Fuller O C Fuller Joe R Fuller James R Fuller, four daughters M L Cooper Edd Tobin Sam Anderson Lenora Fuller, 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral at 4 pm Sunday in Dubach Methodist church, interment in Dubach cemetery.
Soviet forces drive Germans from near Leningrad advancing to Krasnogvardeisk and cutting key rail links to Estonia and Poland. They seize Tatino station near Novgorod and push toward Mosow via Mga and other routes, with 70 towns taken and 2500 Germans killed in the area.

The 25 minute skit features Flynn plus talent from Selman field with Mrs Christine Abernathy and the Selman field concert band. Flynn arrives about 3 pm from New Orleans and departs about 5 30 pm returning there for a bond rally tonight.

In Florence North Carolina area two light bombers collided during flight today. One plane crashed ten miles south of Myrtle Beach killing three occupants: Second Lieutenant George W. Bonzagni Melrose Massachusetts pilot Sergeant James W Counts Prattville Alabama gunner and Sergeant Santford R King Saltillo Texas gunner. The other plane landed safely. A separate Florence airfield crash near Whiteville North Carolina last night killed Flight Officer Stanley Cherneck Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
Thousands of American and British troops landed on beaches south of Rome in a surprise amphibious operation. The assault aimed at severing German communications and driving inland toward Rome, with strong air support and near-zero initial resistance.
G T Kauffman 57 of Bossier City died when his car collided with a Tri State bus at the north entrance of Barksdale field. The bus was eastbound on Highway 40 as Kauffman entered from the field. He left a widow and eight grandchildren. Survived by daughters Alpha Pittman Little Rock Alyina Barton Stephenville and Hope Sanders Yazoo City two brothers E G Kauffman Oklahoma City W T Kauffman El Dorado Ark and two sisters Anne Barnhal Washington Pav Gideo El Dorado.
