Galveston Texas AP A 22 member longshoremen team and the maritime industry reached a four year contract ending a walkout that began January 11 and tied up ports from Maine to Texas. The pact includes a 80 cent per hour raise, gang size protections, a seniority clause, and shipper authority to select foremen. It awaits ratification by the union rank and file and approval by the West Gulf District contract committee.

Spokeswoman Susan Susman of Great Neck New York said the 48 hour fast would end at 5 p m Monday and is backed by the Ad Hoc Committee for Self Determination. The group plans to contact students at Michigan and Chicago to widen protests.

Nationally known concert pianist and organist Leroy Anspach of Monroe died Saturday night in Glenwood Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Hixson Brothers Chapel in Monroe with Dr. Ben Oliphint presiding. Burial will be in Pennsylvania. Survived by widow Eloise and daughter Carolyn, both of Monroe. He led Centenary College music as former director and taught at Chattanooga and Washburn University, with guest appearances with major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic and Philadelphia Civic Orchestra.
