One Dead and Seven Injured in Northeast Louisiana Wrecks
A man, Bill Yarborough, 40, died when his car hit a switch engine near Bastrop on Highway 204. His 10-year-old son Bobby was severely injured, and Mrs. Yarborough suffered minor injuries. The crash halted at a grade crossing as the engine pulled onto the crossing. Two others were injured in a separate Delhi area crash on U S 8 near 3:15 am. The Sanson siblings from San Francisco were hospitalized with severe injuries after a non-stop trip wreck on the highway.

Man Shot and Killed in Hospital Bed near Auburn
Charles Buck Brown 26 of Auburn died at 11:40 p.m. from four bullet wounds while resting in a hospital bed in Russellville Kentucky. Private William E. Rhodes Campbell Camp was arrested on a charge of shooting and wounding with intent to kill and held without bond. Rhodes and Brown’s nurse were reportedly newly married. witnesses say Rhodes took offense at a remark about her husband. Brown had been recovering from burns and injuries from a prior car crash.

Boy Electrocuted by His Christmas Tree in Newton Mass
