Six quartermaster units and two aviation squadrons are expected to arrive in the Twin Cities in a few days to operate with the Second Army. Lt. Joe F. Moore said depot troops will be stationed on land near West Monroe. Dr. Douglas Williams Ouachita parish health unit director said only one polio case has been reported and is under control. He noted rumors of multiple cases and confirmed a quarantine with contacts isolated until the incubation period ends.
State police asked drivers to refrain from using U S highway 171 from Lake Charles to Many all day Friday. The route will be congested with army vehicles, police said.
