In Cleveland Ohio on August 23 representatives of the A F L and C I O agreed to a consent election Friday at the American Ship Building Company's seven yards to decide which group if any will bargain for the 2400 workers. The National Labor Relations Board official said all employees will vote for A F L or C I O or neither after a one hour meeting with union company and labor department officials. Eleven A F L unions are involved with the CIO Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilding Workers at yards in Buffalo Cleveland Toledo Lorain South Chicago and Superior Wisconsin. The company has 25 million dollars in orders from the Navy and United States Steel.
