C D McAdams of the Junior Chamber of Commerce says six Twin Cities civic clubs passed resolutions endorsing a Monroe Y M C A. He notes business and professional men support the effort and recognize the need for the program. The Y M C A's scope is broad and the clubs’ action signals backing.
The Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana will launch a Victory Fund drive to raise 250000 for youth welfare programs. Plans include student centers at Tulane Newcomb College and Southwestern Louisiana Institute, a youth camp, and maintenance trust funds with committees organized statewide for solicitation.
Southern Bell begins a rural survey in the Monroe Louisiana area to assess telephone needs in nearby farms. The program, paused since 1942 for war, will resume when equipment is available, with engineers plotting homes and canvassers collecting service applications.

Cast includes Roy Biker Bette Jo Shepperd Mary Virginia Green Annie Jo Sehon Mary Grace Thompson and others. Three fourths of wartime cobalt shipments originate from Katanga in the Belgian Congo.
The League of Women Voters will meet Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the health center of the post office building. The discussion topic is Shall There Be Federal Aid for Public Schools. The event is open to the public.
