Two Men Hurt In Car Crash Near Swartz
Swartz men Homer Hare 55 and Charles Lambert 22 were injured when their car overturned on the Old Monroe Bastrop road about half a mile from Swartz. They were taken to St Francis hospital by Kilpatrick ambulance around 11 15 pm. Louisiana State Police investigated the single vehicle crash. Lambert suffered back and stomach injuries while Hare had facial lacerations and bruises.

Floodwall Planned for Calion Arkansas to Avert Flood Threat
The small Quachita River town Calion will gain a floodwall after Vicksburg army engineers awarded a $250,000 contract to Camden resident Paul Hooper.
