Monroe city judge WM Harper reports a decline in juvenile cases for January 16 to March 31 across 1936 compared with prior years. He notes 30 Monroe youths contacted police this year, down 38 percent from last year, and urges continued efforts in rehabilitation while stressing parental responsibility.

Brown Jr. filed the action in Ouachita Parish Court. Judge Jesse Heard orders the Nelsons to show cause by 9:30 a.m. April 7 in Fourth District Court.
Monroe police yesterday booked a 34 year old Black woman named Josh Benton for felony theft at her home 4510 Stone Street after a theft complaint by employers Mr and Mrs Dock Terzia. Charles Woodrow Davis 42 of Indianapolis Ind was charged with simple theft after taking a radio from a downtown department store and the radio was recovered.
In Monroe City Court Judge William M. Harper fined Alvin Dorsey 200 days or $200 on a simple theft charge. Wiley Horne faced 40 days or a $50 fine for discharging firearms inside city limits and 100 days or a $100 fine for a concealed weapons charge. Several minor traffic cases also heard. WEST MONROE No City Court was held in West Monroe yesterday.
Mayor J Allan Norris said the West Monroe City Council will decide at a 7 p m Wednesday meeting in City Hall whether to call an election on renaming the city. The session aims to hear residents after a Chamber of Commerce proposal to fund the vote.
