South Wayne to Play Shullsburg on Monday
South Wayne high school football coach Jerry Gruman announced that the postponed game with Shullsburg will be played Monday at 2 PM in Shullsburg after a power failure halted last night’s match. Electrical service remained out this afternoon. A 2 PM practice for the team is set for tomorrow. Gov. Nelson signed a bill creating a third Brown County Court, with a judge to be elected next spring.

Pool Expansion Plans Submitted To City Officials
Monroe Park Board will ask City Council to back a pool expansion plan of about 15 000 dollars with three repair and expansion options. Plans include extending the west end 16 feet for more wading and instructional space, converting to an Olympic size pool, and reducing depth to permit more teaching area while improving filtering capacity to meet turnover requirements. Additional option proposes shallower depth up to 4 1/2 feet and another would fill the pool to 4 1/2 feet with a new diving area and a separate wading pool. Total budget lists 10 000 dollars for expansion with 5 000 already set aside. The board also seeks 10 000 dollars for Twining Park improvements and funding for a park shelter house project and parking facilities to ease safety concerns.

Assailant Identified in Fatal Baraboo Gun Battle
Baraboo police chief Robert Kohl testified about a fatal gunfight that killed Sauk County patrolman James Jantz. Storms Bring Outages and Fires Across Southern Wisconsin
