Green county opens rural two room school near Monroe
Green county's newest rural school, a two room joint district unit known as Joint District No. 9, opens Monday opposite the Four Corners cheese factory, northwest of Monroe. The 28 thousand dollar, one floor building features natural redwood exterior, Tennessee sandstone facing, adjustable desks, a fireproof heating room and future expansion for a community center. Principal Ralph Gorman and teacher Mrs. Kundert will staff the school serving mainly Jordan Monroe and Clarno township pupils from districts Valley View Dolan Blaine Liberty and as yet unnamed.

They will visit his parents at 1322 17th avenue until he is reassigned to Korea. Doris, three months married, was from Berlin and they wed June 27 there. He served as radar specialist at Tempelhof air base guiding planes in bad weather.
