WEST ISLIP New York Mark Turco aged 10 remained in fair condition on the critical list after surgery to remove his mangled leg cut away earlier. He was struck by a car in front of his Babylon home last Tuesday and doctors had reattached the limb then severed tissue and arteries with a metal pin. He developed a blood infection and the leg was amputated to save his life.

Born November 29 1894 in Broken Bow Nebraska he worked for the Los Angeles Times Muscoda Progressive Rockford newspapers and The Monroe Evening Times before retiring in 1960. He was married January 11 1937 to Marcella Neff and lived in Brodhead 22 years. Survived by wife two sons Francis Madison Bruce Brodhead and granddaughter Lynn Ellen Brown.
